Role at New Hope:
Small Groups Coordinator
Kelsey grew up in Mt. Zion, Illinois and currently lives in Effingham with her husband Jeff and their sons Conner (8) and Evan (5). Prior to serving on staff at New Hope, Kelsey was the Client Services Manager at Patterson Dental. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR ROLE?
“I truly believe in my heart that church happens in a smaller group setting. People can ask questions, study Scripture together, share their ups and downs in life and truly have prayer warriors supporting them. There’s nothing better than an authentic Christian friendship.”
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT NEW HOPE CHURCH?
“I love that we teach truth and don’t apologize for teaching what the Bible says. We aren’t afraid to admit our mistakes. We aren’t focused on growth in numbers but rather spiritual growth in people. We are constantly re-evaluating to make sure we are following God’s will and plan, not our own.”
BOOKS THAT HAVE INFLUENCED YOU (other than the Bible):
Radical by David Platt
FAVORITE MUSICAL ARTISTS:
Frank Sinatra, Jeremy Camp, Third Day, Chris Tomlin
WHEN YOU HAVE A FREE DAY, WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO?
My ideal day would be to wake up early, watch the sunrise while drinking coffee with my husband and letting the kids sleep in. Then we’d go to the park for a picnic, come home and get some much-needed projects done around the house. Then we’d grill out for dinner and watch the sunset as a family.
