Position Summary
The 4+5 Grade Coordinator provides leadership for the 4+5 Grade ministry at our Effingham Campus and serves in a leadership or supporting role in NH Kids ministry events and campus-specific events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Attend and participate in scheduled daytime meetings and trainings, including, but not limited to:
meetings for Kids staff, campus staff, and All staff
staff retreats
monthly meetings with the Kids Director
Work with the Kids Ministry staff to seek God for direction, to cast vision, and to oversee development of programs within the 4+5 Grade ministry.
Pray for, invest in, and build relationships with the children, parents, and volunteer team. Regularly point toward a relationship with Christ.
Work in conjunction with the overall New Hope Church and Kids Ministry vision.
Consistently present the Gospel message and provide programming to make Jesus known.
Equip and empower parents as the spiritual leaders in their child’s life through relationships, offering milestone events, and other relevant programming.
Recruit, screen, and train volunteers.
Build a committed and connected team of volunteers. Commit to mentoring, encouraging, praying for, and supporting them in their ministry duties and personal lives.
Show appreciation for the volunteer team.
Create a schedule which staffs all classes for Sunday services.
Communicate events, activities, etc. with parents and volunteers.
Plan, prepare, and participate in special events, such as 4+5 Grade small groups and oneighty events, SuperStart, Christmas Party, Volunteer Conference, etc.
Serve on Sunday mornings.
Prepare for Sunday mornings:
Upload curriculum to Planning Center.
Purchase and prepare curriculum supplies.
Assess and stock classroom bins each week.
Keep all areas clean, organized, and inviting, including classrooms, hallways, storage, etc.
Ensure the safety/security of the ministry and enforce policies pertinent to the ministry.
Maintain an accurate inventory of areas specific to the ministry.
Assist with developing and overseeing the budget.
Review monthly:
Attendance rosters
Allergy reports
Kids budget
Check and promptly respond to emails, voicemails, slacks, texts, etc.
Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience –
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred
2 years related experience and/or training preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge and Skills –
Leadership/Management: A demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams of volunteers to serve children. This includes recruiting, equipping, and empowering these leaders.
Interpersonal Skills: The capacity to engage with children, parents and volunteers on a personal level. Each of these groups have a need to have trust and confidence in you as you lead them.
Decision-Making Skills: A reliable and consistent pattern of right choices made over time that delivers results.
Proven success in previous ministry
Communication skills (both written and oral)
Passion for Jesus exhibited in your family and daily life
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to talk and hear.
Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls (including electronic devices, computers, laptops, etc.)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
