Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager is a full-time position and reports to the Operations Director. The primary ministry of the Facility Manager is the maintenance, operations, and upkeep of the facilities and grounds for all New Hope Church locations. This is both a practical ministry (setting up, maintaining, and improving the facility) and a relational ministry (working with church staff, volunteers, and the general congregation). The Facility Manager needs to be a person who is active in the church and a visible participant during the morning services and regular New Hope Church events.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

General: 

  • Inventory - collaborate with the building admins and ministry leaders to annually review the inventory of each building. 

  • Insurance - review insurance needs

  • Act as a representative with outside vendors, contractors and inspectors

  • Collaborate with the Operations Director regarding research and implementation of maintenance software. 

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of all church properties, buildings, infrastructures, and equipment annual to develop/update a capital improvement plan identifying short-range, mid-range and long-range needs. 

  • Review annual facility budget and implement, monitor, minimize operating costs and provide efficient use of labor and materials by routinely evaluating contracts and gathering multiple bids and proposals

Maintenance: 

  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs; provide oversight for work on property, buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment conducted by contracted vendors, staff or volunteers 

  • Conduct a visual inspection of of all properties, infrastructure, and equipment monthly to identify immediate maintenance needs 

  • Maintain and review up to date records and inspections for property, building and infrastructure and equipment warranties, maintenance and vendor contracts (Elevator, HVAC, lighting, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, pest control)

  • Main point of contact for after business hours emergencies and security calls 

  • Collaborate with each building’s admin regarding any custodial and maintenance needs

  • Manage maintenance requests from ministry leaders, coordinating and completing various projects in a timely manner

Custodial: 

  • Consistency in cleaning standards, products, and supplies

  • Schedule for deep cleaning  including cleaning, floors, fixtures, windows, cobwebs, 

  • Manage, communicate, train, and schedule custodians 

Grounds: 

  • Maintain parking areas and sidewalks (asphalt, concrete, gravel) 

  • Manage the upkeep of exterior grounds including mowing, landscaping, and weed control

Facility Use: 

  • Coordinate with all ministry leaders regarding events and their respective facility needs

  • Oversee and provide event coordination. Ensure proper setup scheduling and teardown for meetings, special events, worship, weddings, memorial services and otherwise as directed. 

  • Actively develop and manage a volunteer team for functions in this department. Schedule and coordinate the efforts of the team as needed. 

Security:

  • Manage and oversee the Usher and Security ministries

    • Recruitment, training, scheduling

    • Update all Sunday AM processes 

    • Schedule periodic training for the security team and volunteer teams across all 3 campuses

  • Maintain systems (fire/burglar system, access, surveillance, IT)


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Education and Experience:

  • Any combination of education and experience to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

  • Experience preferred in building maintenance. 

  • Three years of previous Maintenance supervisory experience is preferred. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Technology skills, ability to use MS Office and Google Suite

  • Administrative skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations


Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods of time

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
