The goal of Unit 40's Mentoring Program is to give support to students as well as their parents and caregivers so that the children can be as successful as possible in both school and life.

Blessings in a Backpack
Blessings in a Backpack – Effingham began in the 2013 feeding 130 children. This year, the group is packing bags with six to seven food items per week for nearly 500. Currently, volunteers are delivering bags to eight area schools, serving children from three years of age through junior high.
